We are currently seeking a Director of Distribution to lead a distribution center in the Johnson County area. Summary

As the Director of Distribution, you will oversee all operations within the distribution center, including direct fulfillment, inventory control, logistics, and staff management. This role requires a strong leader to manage day-to-day operations while executing major projects, such as a warehouse relocation. Your strategic vision and leadership will enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Lead and manage the distribution center team, including hiring, training, and performance management. Collaborate with HR to address staff issues.
  • Monitor shipping, receiving, and shrink results versus budgeted levels. Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency and service levels.
  • Work closely with corporate departments to align daily and weekly objectives with company strategies.
  • Oversee inventory control processes and coordinate inbound and outbound logistics to ensure timely stock levels and delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Develop and manage the distribution center budget, focusing on forecasting and cost control.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with Merchandising, Marketing, and Customer Service teams to ensure orders are processed to company standards and maintain high customer satisfaction.

  • Lead and develop a high-performing distribution center team.
  • Optimize inventory control and logistics operations to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Manage budgets, monitor performance metrics, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies while fostering a collaborative work environment.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in distribution center management, with at least 5 years in a Director or Senior DC Management role.
  • Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems, and logistics principles.
  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and conflict-management skills.
  • Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) are a plus.
