The Situation

M&B Search Group reengaged with a long-standing client who had recently stepped into a CFO role at a local hospital. As part of their transition into this leadership position, they were evaluating opportunities to modernize internal systems and improve operational efficiency across the organization.

Early in our conversations, it became clear that the hospital was planning a significant ERP transformation. Leadership ultimately decided to move forward with a full implementation of Workday HCM, Financials, and Procurement, a large-scale initiative that would impact multiple departments and require both technical expertise and strong project coordination.

With an aggressive timeline and evolving project scope, the organization needed experienced professionals who could support both the implementation and long-term success of the system. They were looking for a recruiting partner who understood not only the healthcare environments, but also the complexity of ERP conversions and change management.

Our Approach

M&B Search Group partnered closely with the CFO and project leadership team to understand the scope of the Workday implementation and identify the critical roles needed to support each phase of the project.

As the organization prepared for launch, we focused on recruiting Workday HCM experts with experience leading and supporting multiple system conversions. These individuals brought technical knowledge and the ability to navigate the complexities of implementation within the healthcare setting.

As the project progressed into the procurement phase, additional needs emerged. We recruited a Workday Procurement specialist to support system configuration, ensure alignment with the hospital’s business processes, and provide ongoing project planning support. This role also played a key part in training internal staff, giving the organization a dedicated resource to support implementation and day-to-day system use.

Throughout the engagement, our team remained in close communication with the Workday Project Manager and internal stakeholders. This allowed us to ensure that the consultants we placed continued to meet expectations, extend project timelines when needed, and adapt to the changing demands of the implementation. By maintaining this level of involvement, we helped create continuity across the project while supporting both technical progress and team capacity.

The Results

By bringing in experienced Workday professionals, the organization was able to move through implementation with greater efficiency and confidence. Internal teams benefited from improved workload balance, while structured training and dedicated support resources helped accelerate system adoption.

The result was a more streamlined transition to Workday, with stronger alignment between system capabilities and the organization’s operational needs.
